Terms of Service
These terms cover your Divot Lab account, any paid subscription, and how the analytics published here may be used.

1. Agreement
Divot Lab (“Divot Lab”, “we”, “us”) publishes golf analytics at www.divotlab.com, including The Lab, the course profiles, the research briefs, the Lab Notes newsletter and the Lab Notes Pro subscription. By creating an account, subscribing, or using the site, you agree to these terms.
If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service. You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account.
2. Your account
Some parts of the site require an account. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us at hello@divotlab.com if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.
One account is for one person. Sharing credentials so that several people use a single subscription is not permitted, and is the kind of thing we may suspend an account over.
3. Subscriptions and billing
Lab Notes Pro is a recurring subscription billed monthly at the price shown at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.
Unless you cancel, the subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period and the card on file is charged. You can see the renewal date, update your card, download invoices and cancel at any time through the billing portal, reachable from Account & billing inside The Lab.
We may change the price of a subscription. If we do, we will give you notice by email before the change takes effect, and the new price will only apply from your next billing period — never retroactively.
4. Refunds and cancellation
Cancel any time, and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Cancelling does not trigger an automatic refund, because the remaining days are still yours to use.
If Divot Lab is not what you expected, email hello@divotlab.com within 14 days of a charge and we will refund it in full. No form, no reason required.
Outside that 14-day window we will consider refunds case by case, and we will usually say yes where the service was unavailable or did not work as described. A full refund ends Pro access immediately; a partial or goodwill refund does not.
To cancel, open Account & billing in The Lab and use the billing portal, or email us and we will do it for you.
5. Free trials and gifted access
New accounts may receive a free trial of Pro. A trial is limited to one per person, requires no card, and simply ends on its expiry date — it does not convert into a paid subscription on its own, and you are never charged automatically at the end of one.
We sometimes grant complimentary access to partners, contributors and early subscribers. Gifted access carries no payment obligation and can be withdrawn at the end of its term.
6. Analytics, betting and no guarantees
Everything published on Divot Lab is information and opinion. None of it is betting advice, financial advice, or a prediction of any outcome.
Where we publish a pick, a model probability or a market edge, it is a description of what our model found — not a recommendation that you place a wager. If you bet, you do so entirely at your own risk and with your own money.
Sports betting is not legal everywhere and the minimum age differs by jurisdiction. It is your responsibility to know the law where you are. If gambling is causing you harm, help is available in the US on 1-800-GAMBLER.
We publish our track record including the weeks the model missed, and we maintain an Evidence page recording what we tested and what the testing killed. We do that because we think it is the honest way to present a model. It is not a warranty: past results do not predict future results, and we do not promise that any figure on this site will be profitable or accurate.
7. Where our data comes from
Tour statistics, betting lines and player ratings on this site originate from third-party providers, principally DataGolf, and are combined with analysis derived from our own historical archive. We make a genuine effort to keep it accurate and to say plainly when a number is unavailable or unvalidated, but we do not warrant that third-party data is correct, complete or current.
Data you see here is licensed for your personal use on this site. You may not scrape, redistribute, resell or republish it, in bulk or systematically. See acceptable use.
8. Acceptable use
Please do not:
- scrape, crawl or systematically extract data or content from the site;
- share, resell or redistribute paid content, or share your login;
- attempt to access accounts, data or systems that are not yours;
- interfere with the service, its security, or its availability to others;
- use the site for anything unlawful, or to harass anyone.
Where the site lets you enter text that other people can see — your username on the Fantasy and Survivor leaderboards, for instance — you are responsible for what you write, and we may remove anything abusive or impersonating.
9. Intellectual property
The site, its design, its written content, its models and the analysis derived from our archive belong to Divot Lab. Your subscription buys access, not ownership, and does not transfer any rights in them.
You are welcome to quote us or screenshot a chart with clear attribution and a link back. You are not welcome to reproduce a whole article, a whole issue, or a substantial part of the data.
Anything you submit — a logged round, a practice result, feedback — stays yours. You grant us the licence needed to store it, process it and show it back to you, and to use it in aggregated, de-identified form to improve the models.
10. Suspension and termination
You can close your account at any time by emailing us. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and where a breach is not serious we will normally contact you first.
If we close your account without cause while you are in a paid period, we will refund the unused part of that period.
11. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided “as is”. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any analysis on it is accurate.
To the maximum extent the law allows, Divot Lab is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for lost profits, or for any betting or gambling losses whatsoever. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version, and we will email account holders about any change that materially affects them. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina.
